OS Series

Series description

The OS series covers small- and mid-range UV units for wastewater applications with capacities from 5 to 250 m3/hr.

The design and technical parameters of the OS series units meet strict regulations for wastewater water UV disinfection systems such as DVGW (Germany), EPA, NSF (USA) and SANPIN (Russia).

UV Dose

OS units ensure a high UV dose in a wide range of water transmission values. The minimal dose for effective disinfection is sustained throughout the lamp's life including lamp aging losses and quartz sleeve foiling.

UV lamps

All OS units are equipped with newest, industrially manufactured high intensity amalgam lamps having long service life (up to 10 000 hours of continues operation ). The lamps were developed by LIT engineers especially for water disinfection. These lamps have three times more UV intensity than conventional mercury low-pressure lamps. Low depreciation of UV radiation intensity at the end of lamp life, less than 20%, guarantees effective disinfection throughout the operating period of OS units. The UV spectrum of the lamps is optimal for germicidal effect.

Control system

PLC based Control System continuously monitors UV dose inside the UV reactor, the status of each UV lamp including elapsed operating time. All operating data are displayed on the LCD panel. The plastic or stainless steel enclosure of Control system has IP65 protection class.

Cleaning system

OS units can be equipped with optional chemical cleaning system. The purpose of chemical cleaning systems is the removal of inorganic and organic coating from the surface of protective quartz sleeves. Chemical cleaning ensures the proper level of UV intensity inside the reactor and provides reliable disinfection throughout the operation lifetime of the UV system.

Installations

By customer request an optional stainless steel frame can be supplied for easy assembling and compact installation of OS system components (UV reactor, Control Cabinet, and Chemical cleaning).

LIT Technology and/or its representatives provide technical consultations on installation, operation and service of OS units.

Application

LIT has developed OS series UV systems for industrial/commercial applications in wastewater disinfection. The models in this series have packaged design with all components integrated in a compact stainless steel housing and separate control cabinet. LIT OS series units utilize amalgam low-pressure germicidal lamps of high-output that produce short-wave radiation at 254 nm wavelength which kills bacteria, viruses and other microorganisms in water.

Design and manufacturing process of OS units comply with international standards for UV disinfection of potable water such as German DVGW 294.
