Erd is a city in the central part of Hungary at the Danube River. The city is always very popular among tourists since it’s close to Budapest. The thermal complex makes Erd known as one of the best health resorts in Hungary. The current economic situation spurs a rapid growth of this tourist oriented city. To provide better services to tourists and inhabitants and improve the quality of drinking water a UV station for surface water disinfection was commenced in the course of reconstruction of the Municipal Water Treatment Plant in December, 2007. Having a capacity of 48 000 m³/day, it was equipped by LIT’s  DUV-12-350 units based on high-output amalgam lamps.
