Beloclav is a town of the Varna region, Bulgaria, located close to Varna. The town is famous for its artistic glassblowing factory and the unique natural phenomenon of Pobiti Kamani (Fossil Forest). The excellent investment climate and opportunities for tourism enable the town to grow. Beloslav derived its name from the seaside lake where the town was located. Municipal and industrial treated effluents are released into the lakescape. Commissioning of a new municipal treatment plant will improve the general ecological situation in the Varna region since Lake Beloslave is connected with Lake Varna by artificial channel. An UV system was commenced at the municipal water treatment plant of Beloslav in June, 2007. It’s an open channel system with a capacity of 20 400 m3/day that prevents residual chlorine from coming into Lake Beloslav and preserves its nature.
