 "Sodruzhestvo-SOYA", a joint Belorussia-Russia company, became the first resident of the Special Economic Zone in the Kaliningrad Region. Equipped with up-to -date soybean processing technologies for subsequent soy oil extraction and soy flour production, this new production complex is unique for Russia. Current sanitary requirements for food processing industry oblige organizations to disinfect water, equipment and utility service lines to maintain the required sanitary level during the production process. To meet these requirements, a UV-system was put into operation in August 2007. The UV-system has a capacity of 1 800 m3/day and is produced by NPO LIT. Water is taken from artesian wells, is treated on membranes produced by ZENON, and then disinfect. The disinfected water is used in the boiler room and in the equipment cooling system.
