Volkovskaya WTP
In August 2005, a full-scale UV plant was commissioned at Volkovskaya WTP of Saint-Petersburg supplying potable water for the residents of Frunzensky, Admiralteisky, Moskovsky, and Kirovsky city districts.
The UV complex was designed and commenced it the engine rooms No. 2 and No. 3 of the second-lift pump station of Volkovskaya WTP. The maximum capacity of the UV plant is 16 500 m3/h (up to 396 000 m3/day). UV disinfection is performed by LIT systems featuring high output amalgam lamps, which accounts for the compactness of the plant. The employment of UV disinfection technology has provided yet another barrier to viruses threatening residents of Saint-Petersburg.
