Land of blooming lotuses
The city of Jeonju is the administrative, educational, and cultural centre of the province of Jeollabuk-do which spans a 1300-year history. The city is renowned for its beautiful lake Dokchginho, the place which hosts the annual Lotus Festival. A veil of lotuses spreads across one side of the lake; some of them are as high as humans. Korean people seem to possess a distinguishing national trait of character – love for nature and desire to protect it.
In September 2004, Jeonju administration in association with company “LIT” commenced a UV plant at the City Waterworks, with a capacity of 100 000 m3/day. The system adds to the cause of conservation of the beautiful nature. Long live the lotus!
